Purely from my own personal experience, I have tried homeopathic remedies (not placebo pills) for chronic pain with no success. However, the work of Dr Sarno has helped me find relief. His theory, known as TMS, being that chronic pain is caused by the mind to distract you from stress and/or adverse childhood experiences. I've certainly found some relief using the techniques that he and other TMS practitioners recommend, including meditation and journaling.
